CORE RETURN POLICY

GENERAL CORE POLICY:  All Dave’s Auto Center (DAC) units have a core and skid charge billed at the time of sale. When the core is returned, a Dave’s Associate will determine the amount to be credited back to the customer’s account. The core returned must be a like-for-like Make, Model and Type, but not a junkyard core. Cores must be returned drained of all fluids and oil, assembled and attached to the same undamaged skid or container your new unit was shipped in. Shipping Containers cost 500.00. Core must be returned within 30 days of the delivery date to receive credit. Full credit will be given unless certain damages and exceptions (listed below) are found. 

Gas and Diesel Engine Core Charges:

Overview: Like-for-like cores returned without visible holes or cracks in the block or Cylinder Heads, not missing any parts, drained and bolted to the undamaged supplied skid, otherwise, core charges will apply: Cracked/Welded, Hole in Block/Disassembled Missing Main Bearing Caps, Missing Crankshaft or Damage beyond Repair, Missing Rod or Rod Caps, Damaged beyond repair connecting rods, Missing or Damaged Camshaft and Lifter housing, Missing Oil Pump, Core Not Drained, Timing Components Damaged/Missing, Skid Straps Missing or Damaged. Cylinder Heads including cracks, and damage beyond repair, or needing valve guides, valve seats, pushrods, rocker arms, rocker pedestals, pushrods. Damaged Skid/Missing Skid/Not Secured. Damaged cylinder sleeves beyond the ability to bore and hone will incur a core fee. If there are any visible holes, cracks or damage, the charge will be 100% of the full core amount for that unit-type. A DAC factory Associate will fully inspect these units, determining core credit. The customer is responsible for any and all non-rebuildable castings.

Core returns need to be returned within 60 days of the customer receiving their engine/order. After 60 day core credit refunds will be at the discretion of Dave's Auto. Dave's needs a 15 day window once we receive the core, to inspect the engine and determine if credit is due. No credit will be issued if core is received after a 60 day period.

To return your product core for credit, please email orders@davesautoutah.com, and you'll receive an email you with an RMA number and detailed return instructions. Please wait for shipment instructions before shipping any cores. Some cores will be sent directly to the manufacturer.

Dave's Auto recommends using a carrier that provides package tracking to ensure your product gets back safely and quickly. You will not be reimbursed for shipping costs incurred in shipping the core. The credit card used for the purchase of the product giving rise to the core return will be credited with the core's original invoiced value after inspection.

Please drain all fluids, if any, from the core. The core returned must be a like-for-like make, model, type and part number. Cores will not be accepted from a salvage or junkyard. Cores that have been disassembled or have missing and/or damaged major components will not receive full core credit.

Merchandise RETURNS

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Our digital products are non-refundable.

Automotive Parts RETURNS

Customers may return eligible automotive parts within 14 days from the date of purchase.

Only parts that are unused, unopened, and in their original packaging will be accepted for return.

Eligibility for Returns:

Any part that has been installed, used, or shows signs of wear and tear will not be eligible for return.

Restocking Fee:

A restocking fee of 15% of the purchase price will be applied to all returned parts. This fee covers the cost of processing the return and restocking the item.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
